  1. I had a wallpaper site up before I updated the whole site with wallpaperscript. All my old pages are still indexed on google.

When you click on one it goes to a not found page on the wallpaperscript.

Is this an actual 404? I need to know because google needs to know that those pages don't exist anymore so they can eventually delete them from their index.

When I have pages indexed that don't exist it hurts my PR and SEO.

I just want to make sure that when google scans the pages that don't exist they are getting a real 404 or 410.

    Thanks,

    BV

Request google to re-index your site. This is what I did when I updated my site. It does take time but eventually the new site got indexed fully. You can have also remove certain links by using Google Webmaster Tools.

    http://www.google.com/addurl/

Add your site to there and in the comments field. Put why you want your site to be re-indexed.
