me personally .. I never buy links !, exchanging links is OK sometimes, but if i have a new site i prefer to run advertising campaign with adwords or any others.

It's ok, many may agree with you, but some other may also wanted buy link from another relative site. It differs in people. It doesn't matter anything else.
