Hot Linking problem

    i have a problem with hotlinking.

    in my cpanel i have HotLink enabled, so people can't hotlink to my files. and this is works on all my domains except on my domain with wallpaper script.

    i see many site hotlink to my photos, how i can stop that ??

    anybody have idea ??

  2. well, it is not a bad idea to have them link to your images if the bandwidth supports it.

    At first all images were hidden and accessible only from the current domain but people complained that the images dont get indexed and I put direct links to them.

    You can still protect yourself by using some .htaccess code to give access to images only from selected domains.

  3. I found this great post that allows you to do that.

    Haven't tried it yet but I like the way you can replace the hotlinked image with another image of your choice (could have some fun with that one!!!!!!)

    *Edit works a treat!!!

    Just a thought but if you prevent image hotlinking would that effect your pics in google image search?

    Yes it does affect. Google would grab your images. You can take a look at my website.

    I let users hotlink because it'll bring more visitors to my website. More visitors means more revenue for you through Advertisements.
