Hey, this question is for Nikhil (i've seen your last post to Ravr) or anybody feel free to answer. I'd like to know how to get traffic and monetize a wallpaper site. Ive study a little bit of internet marketing but now its the time to put into practice...A few tips will be greatly appreciated.

Lets begin Tutorial 1: Basics you need to know before drafting a strategy to earn maximum revenues from a wallpaper business. These points can demotivate some uninitiated fellows but one who can understand these basics can think about how to get maximum returns. Everyone of us cant be WallpaperStock.Com or InterfaceLift.com in 6 months. But if you have a strategy in place you can in say a year or so.
Preliminary understanding of Wallpaper Business:
1. Advertiser Competition on Wallpaper and Related keywords is less, hence less amount bids thus less returns per click for us publishers.
2. Visitors psyche analysis tells us that they are looking for wallpaper downloads so they are reluctant to click textual ads, and image ads are animated usually thus visitors can make out that they are not wallpaper downloads. Moreover, visitors are interested in instant gratification, they simply need a wallpaper unlike visitors doing information search where even they are interested in Sponsored Content.
3. Wallpaper Sites are demanding in terms of hosting Space and Bandwidth requirements.
4. Competition is tough as any tom, Dick and harry coming on web is lured into wallpaper business for ease of starting and maintenance, and thus we have endless sites on wallpapers growing each day by leaps and bounds.
5. Wallpaper sites will require dedicated resources after a threshold number of daily pageviews, so if you are not having enough returns you are doomed, because you wont be able to sustain the investment.... and if you will not invest your site will be slow, which will not be liked by visitors.
SO THESE ARE A FEW THINGS I CAN THINK RIGHT NOW, ONE MUST CONSIDER BEFORE GETTING INTO SERIOUS WALLPAER BUSINESS.
I m not saying you should fear of these reasons, but I m saying you should have a strategy in place. In my next tutorial, I ll draft a strategy step by step, this was just a preliminary analysis.

I agree on most point. But no. 3., what if my webhost offers "ulimimited" bandwidth and "unlimited space"? And on on point 5. what resource or you talking about money I hope not, lol.Posted 2 years ago # -
Dadon if you are on a Shared Hosting, possibilities are that once you start getting visitors and more pageviews, I mean more than 100 visitors per hour, your site will either slowdown or suspended for excess resource usage. i m saying this from personal experience.
Unlimited hosting space and Unlimited bandwidth is a mirage, nobody pays from pocket for customers, customers are there for revenues. If unlimited hosting was a reality then why these Unlimited hosts cramp 2000-6000 sites on a single server.. Add 300 gb of data on your account or 200 gb bandwidth consumption and take my word you will start getting troubled by these cheap hosts.
point 5, dedicated resources means Premium Hosting, one that says 1000 gb or 2000 gb premium bandwidth and 20 gb or 50 gb space, both dedicated at a cost of $25 per month, but as i ll point out in coming tutorials, you need premium hosting once your site reaches a threshold. if you follow my coming tutorials and suggested strategy, you ll earn handsomely to support premium hosting requirements and then sky will be the limit. Who knows yr site develops enough fan following that you will need a dedicated server.... ;-) and that will translate into a handsome earning as well.

Tutorial 2: Viewership is what Matters.
Now if you people have read tutorial 1 , you are aware of what are the possible difficulties to get handsome earning of a wallpaper business.
Most important for any given advertsing media is viewership, being a MBA, we have studied in details about traditional media, TRP's , Share of Voice and advertising success. Publishers in traditional media are TV Channels , Radio / FM stations and print media etc, but do you think situation is different in online Media. Even here the same advertising model functions, Advertisers[ say Dell monitors] , Publishers [Websites like ours] and Agency or Ad Network [say google ad network]Now many of you can think that why the hell, we need to know all this, we just have to get traffic on a wallpaper site and monetise it.
But have you read this article which states if you are not having a sustainable business model and strategy you can't earn a living from any online business, even if you have millions of visitors. http://www.newsweek.com/id/183666
So I ll suggest even a wallpaper business if given due importance can be a real source of income and for that you need to understand why an Advertiser would pay you for ad space on you wallpaper site.
Now lets consider an ideal situation, you are having 3-5 million page views in a month and your monthly income is say $500 from direct ad sales, $ 200 from say adsense and $100 from Affiliate Sites say, linking screensavers, banners etc. that means $800 per month from a wallpaper business site but thats ideal situation we would all like to be.
Question is it all depends on 1 thing that whats your viewership in a given month... right.
As a site with 500-700 odd visitors a day and 10000+ page views will be hardly able to earn 100-150$ a month, that too from only one source Adsense. And you can think about sites with lower traffic
So lets explore possibilities on how to target this viewership and how much time is needed to get this viewership of 2 million pageviews + a month with sustained efforts, I ll try and explain this in next post...

Sorry, but three of my clients are having objection to publicly disclose all my strategies...... so I m trying to convince them, thats why the delay, but I hope I ll be able to get them agree to continue these tutorials.
BTW one of my personal site has touched 2 million page views recently with dedicated efforts of 6 months. Although my current earning from this site stands at $400 but i ll manage to get it $800 in next 2 months as I have been able to get it to a very fast growth rate.

lot many people are using illegal codes and asking for help, when support do not answer they crap.If somebody is discussing here something meaningful, there are leg pullers around.
but dont worry i m gonna stay here, helping those who understand, you pointed out this because I stopped the tutorials, but i ve got 5 clients whom giving the paid service to achieve all that with my strategy, they are bound to object for it will increase competition for them. I do market my hosting, other services but i m also the one who try and help , at least as much as i can.
So if the community feels i m not needed i ll stop but not for a few critics like u
