   I need to drastically improve the speed of my wallpaper website http://wallpapers.in. It is extremely slow compared to the popular websites like wallpaperstock.net etc. I am not sure why this is. Currently it is hosted on a shared server with hostmonster and using a template designed by one of our co-memners in this forum. Please give suggestions on some simple ways to improve the speed. I am open to investing some $ if required.

   There are lots of factors which decides your website speed. one of them is ur host service also.

   check this website..

   and test ur pagespeed .. you can increase ur page speed by improving the points depending on test result.

   by the way.. ur website is not working correctly .. every page is generating a 404 error.

   I don't think I am currently with the most reliable host. Do you think changing the host may help with the website speed? If yes, which would you recommend?

   It all depends what you would be getting from a different host.

   If you have a cheap $5 a month hosting account, chances are you're sharing a single server with thousands of others, their actions effect your speed.

   You would likely need a VPS o dedicated server for reliably fast service every time.

   I use a dedicated myself (rented privately).
