Hi all,
Wallpaperscript has been updated to latest version (3.5.0032).
You can download using the same link as before.
What does this update include? Also, can you tell us what files were updated, so we don't have to upload all of them again? I have several many mods that have been made to the core system and I don't want to overwrite files if I don't have to.
Where would i find my download link?
The download link is the same you used to download the script for the first time.
That was e-mailed to me and when i click that now, i get
Missing License Key or something
my download link just keeps redirecting to:
Try again now please. Let me know how it goes.
Now i get:
Empty license number
can you send me an email with the link, or tell me your domain please?
whats your email to send it to?
ok i have been sent the zip directly from the company, whats the upgrade instructions as its not in the zip or readme file? do i simply overwrite all old files? what do i need to do?
I have the same question about upgrading and what has been changed since earlier versions...
I will add the update instructions in the readme.txt file. I am working on making a file change history.
The last version looks ok now.
The lang system works fine for me.
Great...looking forward for more goodies.
SMALL BUGS THAT NEED FIXING
Sitemap doesn't work
--
RSS feed categories doesn't work
The friends block allows you to add the same link again and again, once added once, it should not allow you to add the same link again, there should also be a captcha here to avoid spam
--
The script doesn't allow me to have 2 categories with the same name, e.g.
music/hip hop
celebs/hip hop
When i then choose to add a wallpaper and type the word in the ajax category box, i get 2 hip hop's and don't know which one is which

FUTURE SUGGESTIONS
I would like to be able to offer ftp bulk uploads to other users so their uploads go under their usernames, an easy way of doing this is upload/username/ and we can create manual ftp access to their folder
--
Users should be able to drag and drop elements from the page to how they wish to view it
--
Admin should be able to move elements link move categories to the left etc
--
Adsense share needs to be in place as seen in another one of my threads, others agree
--
I would like to be able to use different watermarks for different resolutions, e.g. my current watermark looks great on a normal wallpaper but on the iphone wallpaper, it looks awful
--
There should be a dedicated page that detects a iphone browser so when a user goes to the site via an iphone, it should take them to the iphone wallpapers and the site should be modified/optimized for iphone use
--
All forms including contact, add links, add wallpaper, register, comments etc needs to have captcha (www.captcha.net) to avoid spam
--
I want to be able to edit category titles, meta tags, keywords etc per wallpaper/category
Another bug spotted, i just moved 2 wallpapers to another category
I moved 2 wallpapers from
# Female Models (2)
to
# People (2)
However, i can still see Female Models in the category list with (2) next to it even though there are no wallpapers there.
@thedigitalgenius
Use this www.yourdomain.com/?buildCatTotal=1
Another bug, if u all wallpapers to cat 1 and move them to cat 2, it doesn't count on the category menu in the navigation.
^^^ thanks ronnie, that worked! I think i will set that up on a weekly cron job.
*also it would be nice if the script did this by itself in future.
Where can i see all wallpapers waiting moderation? at the moment i have to click users and check each wallpaper individually...
Another suggestion.
Search box with a drop down below it allowing:
Search By Category
Search By Resolution
Another suggestion:
Different sized watermarks depending on the resolution of the wallpaper, my iPhone wallpapers now have a huge watermark on them... not a good look.
Another suggestion and quite an important one, users should be able to tick boxes or something so they can choose a category and a resolution, this has come as feedback directly from my users.
This saves users having to go through categories looking for wallpapers then having to check if its their resolution.
thedigitalgenius - nice recommendations...
I agree watermarks should be able to be created for different resolutions, so that they fit better.
Also, I have gotten similar feedback from my users and think this should be a setting in the users profile. The user should be able to check all the resolutions they wish to view and then only those resolutions are displayed for that user.
^^^ agreed but it should be an option for guests aswell, e.g. only view resolutions for 320x480 with the option to revert it back nice and easily obviously.
another nice add on would be drag and drop like pageflakes, not a necessity but something nice for the future so the user can choose where he/she wants each block/module and it saves for them.
Another suggestion, the ability to host some images else where on other servers... the thumb can be hosted with us but the main wallpaper on other servers e.g. imageshack ;)
I have noted all your requests and I will try to implement as many as possible for next version.
Will RSS Feeds be added?
